This was a super duper hit at our house. Aaron, Owen and Noah all gave this a perfect 10, and I gave it a 9. This is easy, fast, and full of flavor, and Picky Palate made another winner for us. For 1/6 of the total, the calories were 301, and here is what I did.
1 lb shrimp, shelled and deveined
1 T olive oil
Onion powder, Garlic Salt, Basil, Italian Seasoning, and Salt to taste
3 c marinara sauce
2 T cream
1/2 lb pasta
Cook pasta according to directions. Season shrimp to taste, then heat the oil in the pan and cook the shrimp until pink, about 3 minutes. Add in the marinara sauce, then the cream, and cook until heated through. Serve with the pasta.

Chicken Parmesan Bake
Here is another quick, shovel it in type of food, rather than having a meat sauce, this one is chicken, with lots of cheese. Use the same idea as the meat sauce, but cook the chopped up chicken with olive oil, garlic, onion, and spices to taste, then add the tomato sauce/tomatoes/tomato paste, some parmesan cheese, and then add in the cooked noodles, plop it in a pan, top with lots of cheese, and bake for about 25 minutes. I gave this a 6, because I didn't feel like there was enough flavor, but everyone else gave it an 8, so a hit with the guys :). The calories for 1/6 of the total are 413 the way I made it, but I think it could use more flavor, so amp up the cheese, spices, whatever.

Slow Cooker Tortellini Lasagna Casserole
We love red sauces in our family, and if they have sausage in them, all the better for Aaron. I knew this recipe would be a hit with everyone, and it was. We had Tortellini Lasagna Casserole, which is made in the crockpot. It's fast, easy, and so worth the wait. It was rated a perfect 10 from everyone.
The only changes I made were to add cheese to the top of the casserole, only about one ounce, and I used the ricotta instead of cottage cheese. Someday I'll have a pasta maker, and can make our tortellini here at home, but since I don't have a pasta maker, I had to use store-bought tortellini, which is still really, really great. I used homemade marinara sauce, and this just turned out so well. The calories for 1/8 of the casserole are 493 calories.
Tomorrow we're having some shrimp and potatoes, and a blueberry cake.
